Philosophy of the O’Connor HS Band Program

The students of the O’Connor High School Band Program are expected to strive for the highest levels of achievement through musical performance and personal growth. Through a variety of performances, competitions, and educational experiences, students are challenged to develop excellence in concert band, jazz ensemble, percussion studies, color guard, community band, and individual performance.

The primary goal of the program is to provide rigorous musical opportunities that inspire students to reach their full potential as performers and leaders. In addition to developing exceptional musicianship, the O’Connor High School Band Program fosters qualities such as discipline, responsibility, teamwork, and perseverance. Through these experiences, students are prepared not only for success in music but also to become productive, responsible, and engaged members of their communities.
